Melbourne -Thessaloniki Music Concert for all to enjoy.
In celebration of the 26th anniversary of the Melbourne Thessaloniki
sister cities relationship, the White Tower Association, in partnership
with the City of Melbourne, proudly presents "Colours of Music" -
Ihohromata featuring Elizabeth Exindaris and the Greek Florinian Choir,
Stelios Tsiolas, Achilles Yangoulis and more much loved composers who
have touched our hearts over the years with their songs in exploring
Thessaloniki's cultural roots. Join us on 24 October at 4.00pm Main
Hall, Melbourne Town Hall. An event for all to enjoy, tickets $10.00
each .
The concert at Melbourne Town Hall was a success since it was attended by
about 600 guests, members and non-members of Thessaloniki Association. Here we have photos of the successful event.

Thessaloniki Forum
In celebration of the 26th anniversary of the Melbourne Thessaloniki
sister cities relationship, the Thessaloniki Association "White Tower",
in partnership with the City of Melbourne and the Victorian
Multicultural Commission proudly presents a historical forum discussing
the Hellenistic period of Thessaloniki presented by the Association's
president, Mrs Katia Zikou. Come and join us on Sunday the 7th of
November 2010, at 3:00pm at the Lower Town Hall for this wonderful and
cultivating discussion. Free entry.

Melbourne Thessaloniki Sister Cities Community Festival
Celebrating the 26th year anniversary of sister cities Melbourne and
Thessaloniki, the Thessaloniki Association "The Whiter Tower", in
partnership with the City of Melbourne, Victorian Multicultural
Commission and the Bank of Cyprus is proud to announce the 2010 Sister
Cities Glendi Festival. Exploring the appreciation for culture, music,
the arts, and multicultural cuisines, the Festival will be a whole day
of experiencing multiculturalism at its peak. Join us on Sunday the 14th
of November 2010 at Federation square, Melbourne, from 12:00pm to
experience an event which all will enjoy.

On March 17th Thessaloniki Association has taken part in a get together which emphasized the importance of the group and its role in Melbourne. The story is that since 2003 there were 2 dinghies built by funds from the City of Melbourne. These dinghies which were destined to be used by the disabled sailors in Thessaloniki never arrived. Seven years later after the work put up by a member of our association Mr Iakovos Garivaldis and the additional funding required put up by Thessaloniki Association "The White Tower" the boats were ready to be shipped out. Hence the wonderful celebration.

Η Ένωση Θεσσαλονικέων "Ο Λευκός Πύργος" έδωσε πάλι το παρόν στην παρέλαση που διοργανώθηκε εορτάζοντας την Εθνική Εορτή των Ελλήνων της 25 Μαρτίου 1821. Τα λάβαρα της Ένωσης σηκώθηκαν ψηλά και παρέλασαν μπρος από τους επισήμους.

Μια απο τις ευτυχισμενες στιγμες μιας πολυ χαρουμενης παρεας 50 Θεσσαλονικεων και όχι μόνο, που εκμεταλλευτηκαν το Σαββατοκυριακο 25 και 26 Απριλιου να εξεδραμαν στο Bright.

Μια ακομη πολυ πετυχημενη εκδηλωση της Ενωσης Θεσσαλονικεων, την Κυριακη 30 Μαιου στην Ταβερνα ΝΙΚΟΣ. Διακρινονται η Προεδρος κ. Κατια Ζηκου και μελη, σε στιγμες χορωδιακου τραγουδιου.
Την εκδηλωση τιμησαν πεντε πρωην Προεδροι μαζι με 200 μελη, φιλους και εκφωνητες του Ραδιοφωνου.Ο χορος, το κεφι και η ζεστη σαλωνικιωτκη ατμοσφαιρα, αφησαν αριστες εντυπωσεις στους τυχερους παρευρισκομενους.

H Πρόεδρος της Ένωσης Θεσσαλονικέων "Ο Λευκός Πύργος" έκανε ομιλία την Κυριακή 7 Νοεμβρίου, ώρα 4.00μ.μ. στο Δημαρχείο Μελβούρνη επί της Swanston Street, παρουσία εκατό περίπου συμπαροίκων
Το θέμα της ομιλίας ήταν Οι Τέχνες κατά την Ελληνιστική Περίοδο στην περιοχή Θεσσαλονίκης. Η ομιλίτρια με τη βοήθεια της τεχνολογίας πρόβαλε έγχρωμες διαφάνειες έργων τέχνης από τη Βεργίνα, Μακεδονικούς Τάφους, Πέλλα, Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης κλπ. Είδαμε Μωσαϊκά δάπεδα, σύνολα σκευών, ασημένια και χρυσά κοσμήματα, διαδήματα ακι τα υπέροχα Μακεδονικά στεφάνια με φύλλα μυρτιάς, ελιάς, βελανιδιάς. Τον περίφημο κρατήρα Δερβενίου με τις γλυπτές και ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις και περίφημα αγάλματα του Ηρακλή, Ασκληπιού, Απόλλωνα, Αφροδίτης, Δήμητρας και Περσεφώνης. Από το Μουσείο Θεσσαλονίκης το κοινό απόλαυσε και τις Ελληνικότατες επιγραφές και ονομασίες.
