Monday 10 November 2008 (6:30pm) Photography Exhibition of ANZAC Monuments from Greece at the Hellenic Museum, 280 Williams Street, Melbourne. This exhibition to be held in collaboration with the Pancretan Association of Melbourne contains photographic material from all monuments erected in Greece for Australians who lost their lives fighting against Germans in World War II. The exhibition titled “The Spirit of ANZAC: Greece 1941-2008” will be presented by the state minister John Pandazopoulos MP, in the presence of the Prefect of Thessaloniki, Mr Panagiotis Psomiadis, his wife Julia, and three City of Thessaloniki Council representatives. The exhibition will be open daily to the public until Sunday 16 November, between 10:00am to 3:00pm. The exhibition comprising the works of photographer Garrie Hutchinson will include books by author Peter Ewer titled “Forgotten ANZACS”. Sponsors of the exhibition with the exception of Thessaloniki Association are the Nafsika Stamoulis Foundation and the Pancretan Association of Melbourne. A cocktail party will follow the speeches and the official Opening of the Exhibition, to be organised by the Nafsika Stamoulis Foundation at the beautiful Hellenic Museum building.
